Welcome to HTB at Home, our weekly online church service. Joe O’Sullivan talks to us about ‘A New Lifestyle’, giving examples of how we can walk in love and shine brightly in our faith. Nicky and Pippa also sit down to chat with Gavin Cutler* about the journey he’s taken to get to the brink of ordination. From childhood trauma to substance abuse and addiction, to finally encountering Jesus, it’s one not to miss.
*This interview discusses sexual abuse, drug use and addiction from the very start which some viewers may find distressing. If you have been affected by any of the topics discussed in today’s service. Please visit htb.org/further-support
Joe and Gavin were both part of The Peter Stream programme. The Peter Stream seeks to see the Church benefit from a range of women and men who have sensed a call to ordained church leadership but have faced exclusion. The scheme aims to raise leaders from underrepresented backgrounds, particularly in relation to educational, social or minority ethnic categories. It is a year-long programme that runs in conjunction with the Diocesan discernment processes.
