http://saddleback.com/peace — In August 2019, Pastor Rick Warren and a team from Saddleback Church traveled to Costa Rica for the official Costa Rican launch of the PEACE Plan, Saddleback’s mission strategy that unites local churches of all denominations to tackle the biggest issues facing their communities. The PEACE Plan brings together all sectors of society to create change. While in Costa Rica, Pastor Rick spoke to a gathering of pastors, business leaders, and the Costa Rican president and congress.
The official Latin American launch event occurred on August 9, 2019, in the National Convention Center, which drew 2,200 believers from Costa Rica and from 12 other Latin American countries looking to replicate the PEACE Plan in their own nations. The day featured transformational preaching from Pastor Rick and attendees gained a new perspective on their individual life purpose and on the unique role they are called to play in their churches and communities. The gathering represented the first steps towards cross-denominational unity as 200 volunteers from 8 different Costa Rican churches worked hand and hand to make the event a success.
These events mark the start of Saddleback’s ongoing partnership to bring community transforming skills and trainings to local churches in Costa Rica—equipping them to address challenges like poverty, health, and orphaned children in their neighborhoods as their nation becomes a model and training hub for the rest of Latin America.
If you would like to be a part of the exciting ways our church is coming alongside Costa Rica, you can join us in praying, giving, or going to Costa Rica on an upcoming PEACE trip.
