This past weekend, our Saddleback Church family honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy ahead of MLK Day. The federal holiday is designated as a day of service to encourage Americans to volunteer in their communities. As a pastor of a local church, Dr. King was deeply concerned about serving others in his community — at Saddleback, we call that ministry, and we believe it is one of the five purposes God calls us to as his followers.
