It has been said that there is a 'wisdom deficit' in our society and a real search by people to find words that are trustworthy, authentic and energizing. In a series of short interviews that begins today, Canon Mark Oakley of St Paul's Cathedral asks respected people what they believe are the things that really matter in this life, the insights they have gained that they want to hand on to others -- especially the young.
The series begins with Doreen Lawrence, the mother of Stephen who was murdered in a racist attack in London 21 years ago. She speaks personally about Stephen's death, what she hopes to do in parliament now as a new life peer, her faith and the things she believes matter deeply. This interview was recorded on the 28th March 2014.
