Congregations are often an invisible presence in the ecology of cities, overlooked by policy makers, planners and developers as having
agency in the vitality of neighborhoods. On the other hand, religious leaders can overestimate, even romanticize, their impact.
Drawing on her extensive research on urban religion, Day will focus how the dynamics of cities shape, and are shaped by, communities of faith.
