The Christ at the Core Fall Series presented the second annual Enduring Questions, Faithful Answers symposium examining an enduring question from multiple liberal arts perspectives. This year’s symposium, Why Art? Considering Belief, Creativity, and Meaning in the Work of Marc Chagall, explores the significance and lasting impact of Chagall’s art. Speakers included Drew Bratcher (English), Michael Graves (Biblical & Theological Studies), Matt Lundin (History), and Marissa Voytenko (Art).
A reception followed at the Marc Chagall and the Bible exhibit in the Billy Graham Center Museum, which features etchings and lithographs of Chagall’s imaginative interpretation of the Old Testament and Christ’s crucifixion. The symposium, reception, and exhibit are free and open to the public.
Marc Chagall and the Bible will be on display at the Billy Graham Center Museum from Nov.8-March 1.
