Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the country’s foreign minister were both found dead this morning after their helicopter crashed yesterday when it encountered a sudden, dense fog. Iran has offered no cause for the crash, nor suggested sabotage brought down the helicopter.
The International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor says that he is seeking arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and defense minister Yoav Gallant, as well as three Hamas leaders. Israel’s foreign minister called the prosecutor’s decision “a historic disgrace.”
And Benny Gantz, a centrist member of Israel’s War Cabinet, threatened Saturday to resign if the Netanyahu led government doesn’t adopt a new plan for the war in Gaza. Gantz’s resignation would leave Netanyahu more reliant on far-right allies.
