http://www.veritas.org/talks - At The Veritas Forum at Harvard, Oxford mathematician John Lennox explains how the perceived conflict between science and faith is really between the worldviews of materialism and theism. Many famous scientists believe in God; brilliant science can be done both by atheists and believers. The conflict which is real must lie deeper within - between two worldviews about the nature of ultimate reality. The first worldview is naturalism or materialism, which holds that this universe is the only thing that exists. The second worldview is that of theism, that there is something or someone beyond the observable universe. The burning question is what is the evidence for the truth of either of them, and which way does science point? The new atheists criticize blind faith, but faith simply means trust and we often trust people on the basis of evidence. Christianity is an evidence-based faith.
