One of the trickier things for third culture kids--kids who have grown up outside their parents’ culture--is finding tricks, tools, or patterns by which they can understand their place in the world. Deborah O’Dell, who worked for nearly two decades as a missionary in Japan, and Leanne Dzubinski, who spent 25 years in cross-cultural ministry, brainstorm “jigs” for helping third culture kids make their way.
