A Conversation on Same-Sex Relationships held Tuesday, April 5th, 2022 from 7:00–8:45 p.m. in
Barrows Auditorium
The Wheaton College Community Covenant maintains and affirms that marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and woman. However, people throughout the Christian world continue to debate the ethics of same-sex relationships. Traditional biblical perspective centers on Genesis and Ephesians 5 to argue for the ontology of sex difference and thus male-female marriage.
But there is an ongoing conversation nationally and around the world that has moved outside of the exegesis of specific scripture passages to broader theological exploration of sex difference. Hosted by The Sexual & Gender Identity Institute (SGI)—School of PCFT hosted scholars Wesley Hill and Karen R. Keen, who presented differing perspectives in a dialogue on same- sex relationships and whether sex difference is essential to a Christian definition of marriage.
