Understanding the Cultural Identity Crisis
From the perspective of many Christians, things that were once considered right are now considered wrong and things that were once considered wrong are now considered right. And so they feel that culture has undergone a moral slide, which it has done to a certain extent.
But on a deeper level, culture has undergone an identity crisis. We no longer agree upon what it means to be human. When you look through all of history’s major documents, none of them discuss what it means to be human because that wasn’t even up for debate.
As a result of this identity crisis, being made in the image of God is no longer what gives human inherent value. It is how we look and our sexual identity that gives us value now and that is not how God intended for it to be.
