Is there such a thing as a "level playing field' when it comes to opportunities in sport? When it comes to breaking down barriers, you don't have to be big to dream big. Please join us for an engaging conversation with 3-time Olympian and captain of the Olympic GOLD winning Team USA Women’s hockey team, Kendall Coyne Schofield, as we discuss equal opportunities and equity challenges for women in sports.
Kendall has a career of “firsts.” She was the first female NHL All-Star weekend skills competitor, first female player development coach for the Chicago Blackhawks, first woman to serve as an analyst for a Chicago Blackhawks regular season game, and member of the first all-women NBC Sports and NHL Tonight broadcast teams, and co-founder of WPHL (Women’s Professional Hockey League).
Also featuring Dr. James Angelini (Univ. of Delaware) a leading sports communication scholar on media agenda-setting, Olympic coverage, and the portrayal of male and female athletes.
