A team of 13 ringers attempt a peal on the bells of St Paul's Cathedral to mark the birth of Prince George of Cambridge, watched on by a news cameraman and photographer.
Unfortunately, after more than three hours of continuous ringing and agonisingly close to the end, the peal had to be halted due to a fire alarm being activated.
The peal attempt, 5000 changes of a new composition entitled Cambridge Maximus, was being rung to mark the birth of the heir to the throne, as had been done in 1948 and 1982 for Princes Charles and William.
Beginning at midday on Saturday, 27 July 2013, the 13 ringers rang solidly for three hours and ten minutes, before they were forced to drop the ropes and leave the ringing chamber.
