As we’re coming to the end of October, we’ve got one more person from our community that we’d love to highlight. Black History Month itself may be over - but Black History isn’t and we’re on an ongoing journey as we continue to grow and learn together as a diverse and Jesus-centred community. We stand on the shoulders of the people that have gone before us, and the past is then embodied in all of us, with every day an opportunity to add a new page and help build a new future.
The last person we’re highlighting today is Lara, who’s been part of Hillsong for four years and she’s serving on the New People’s Team at our Newcastle campus and also serves at our House Update Team as copywriter.
Lara shares how her Nigerian heritage and her relationship to her dad has shaped her identity and faith and how she is passing on her values to her daughters.
